It’s October, the rains have come and it’s getting colder. As is always the case here when the sun is out it’s amazingly warm. Today we had lunch in the sun lounge as there was a lot of cloud around and the sun was intermittent. The view into the distance was crystal clear today, no heat haze at all. It must be possible to see 25 Kms across the plains to the distant Sierra de Lucar. Today we could say well past them. The newly installed solar hot water heating system was still working so at least another free shower tonight. I just love the thought of free hot showers, as in the past we have spent so much money on the electric water heaters we have to use here. Gas use is prohibited in a cave, for obvious reasons.

Cueva Aked in the Jewel of Andalucia
Hola. We are British ex pats living in Andalucia near a town called Baza. Later pages will give you lots of information about this fascinating area that we have come to love so much. The people here are friendly, helpful, full of life and they have a charm that is a delight to encounter.
The local fiestas have to be seen to be believed as does the local environment, but more of this to come.
